UCET Coronavirus Announcement

Inevitably, the coronavirus and the Governments instructions for social distancing (and responsible behaviour) has affected our caving.

In an effort safeguard our members and in an effort to help bring as swift a resolution to the coronavirus as possible, UCET is suspending all official trips until further notice.

In addition, the AGM is suspended and will be re-scheduled once this crisis has passed. Please note that the meeting on the 19th April 2020 will not go ahead.

For members who still wish to go caving, you can still arrange your own trips but please be mindful of the risks ….

LesW OFFLINE Posts: 1006 Thank you received: 225	Apparently UCET have a Wessex Cave Club hut booking for next weekend, I wasn't aware of it myself but it's in our hut booking diary. I assume given the above message that UCET aren't coming to Mendip anyway, but if people believe they are, then be aware that the Wessex (along with all the other Mendip Clubs) are closing their huts until further notice. Les

errr - oh dear - this seems to have escalated quickly

yes - a wessex booking was made - " in the name of UCET "

in our defence - because the 2 UCET members - attending were the biggest " block "

the reason the trip - was not advertised to the UCET membership is

PIRACY

we had a series of plans - that were incompatible with the strictures of a club trip // official meat

the strategy was simple - at the wessex - we would be 2 UCET + guests . in the wild - we would be 5 blokes

appologies - that none of this was communicated [ we figured that if you didnt know - you could just deny all knowledge - and protest innocence ]

if it hadnt been for that pesky N19COVID virus - we would have got away with it
