I'm thinking of doing a few trial SSSI cave monitoring surveys for the North East Wales Area, as such I need about 3 short (10-50m) holes which I can briefly summarise.

if there are any which have sediment or stalagmites in them that would be a bonus. (i'm well aware that some may have rubbish in them, that wouldn't be a bad shout either).

Does anyone have any immediate thoughts? otherwise i'll trawl the Caves of North Wales Website for Ideas.

hi ali
why not try the leete cave that we are monitoring at the moment. tom has done a survey of it (i think) so it might be worth giving him a nudge,

I'm looking for a few as examples of how useful cavers can be with sssi monitoring and the 'service' we might be able to provide, should we be offered a sweetener.

I'm not sure if leete fits the bill if it's been 'seen to' already.

in my opinion this cave could be perfect, nrw are aware of it as we have had a meeting with them about it and there has been development in there. and they are totally nieve about it

Thinking more along the lines of Bryn Alyn Caves 7-12 and Bryngwyn Quarry Caves 1 – 3

short and sweet, but big enough to show that we know what we're talking about and want to put the effort in.
