This week’s trip is to Maeshafn Mine.

General mooch around this interesting little mine. A little squeeze in one place which opens out pretty quickly so no need to worry.

Meet time: 6:30-6.45pm

Meet point: At the triangle by Miners Arms pub/telephone box in middle of Maeshafn. (Google Link - goo.gl/maps/yjmqh)

Equipment needed: Helmet and lamp, overalls/old clothes/caving suit, wellies/boots, gloves.

Notes: Suitable for novices and first timers. We also recommended a change of clothes if you are messy

It would be useful to know who’s coming along so if you can pop a message on the forum, facebook or reply that would be great.

Any suggestions on trips for the next few weeks or offers to lead shout up, as this would really help me get the trips out sooner

As I didn't fancy Maeshafn Mine tonight (bit of a poo-hole), went over to Doug's Dig today. More progress made in spite of a scary moment when the wire cable on the winch broke! Plenty of water flowing down through the blocked tunnel, washing the spoil through it. Just have to concentrate on the bottom of the shaft. Breakthrough into miles of old workings possible this summer?
