Why does ...

1) My computer never remembers my login details for this forum even though I click "Remember me" every time I log in?

2) Every time I come to this site I get a warning to check my passwords? I don't get this warning on any other webpages. Also, when I click "Check" it lists all sorts of pages I visit (with different logins) and I cannot make the warning cease each time I visit here unless I change ALL my passwords ..... ????

Help please, I am going insane.

It will only remember until you delete your browser history.

I have had this problem on my Lenovo Windows 10 computer since a recent update. Everytime I switch it on I have to log back into Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram plus all the other services I use including this club site which is a right kerfuffle.
I am also using an older Acer computer which I have installed both Windows 10 (a copy I bought through Computer Active on a special deal) and Linux Ubuntu 19:10 where I have no problem with getting thrown out of all my services everytime I power down.

Using the 'remember me' box on here will make the bulletin board software save a cookie - you could have other browser setting/security settings/software which subsequently delete that cookie. The bulletin board itself might not be set up correctly.

Which browser are you using? Google like to control your life and chrome now checks your passwords to see if you have ever used the same password on more than one site. If you have it will give the message you seem to be getting.

Things to consider:
Use a browser such as Comodo Dragon which is based on chrome but has far better security.
NEVER allow passwords to be saved via cookies or your browser both are easily compromised.
Use a password manager such as lastpass to create unique and secure passwords and then manage them for you.
Use two factor authentication for any password manager

There are other password managers/ secure browsers)

Iain,

Thanks for this ....

I am using Chrome (as you guessed) - how do I make it "remember me" again for this site (I don't have this issue with any other site)

Also, how do I dismiss the "check passwords" warning which, again, only occurs on this site (but lists many of the sites I visit)
